I have this blank wall in my dining room that’s been blank for almost a year (that’s when it was painted.) I have this lovely picture to put there – a print of one my Mom painted. But, I needed something nice to go with it to make it complete. Aha. Those vinyl wall things are so very cool these days. I’ll get a verse – something significant in our lives – to put on the wall beside the pictures. Oh boy. So many obstacles in my way.
1) Will it actually look nice?
2) What verse? Oh my. Months and months went by when I’d forget to think about it, or forget to ask Keith what he thought, or other things were more pressing, or…
3) Okay, now I have the verse. What web-site to use? There are so many.
4) What color should it be?? What dimensions? What font. Good grief. The options and unknowns are so daunting. And then…
5) What?!? $150??? Sigh. Yes, we have the money. But then I got to thinking. This is a single application deal. When the wall needs to be re-painted, the whole thing is history. Do I really want to spend that much on something that will for sure last no more than 5 -10 years?
6) But it might look really, really cool.
What do you think?
i think Carol Hobbs might be the one to ask about such things…

wow. hmmmm…. well, I’d say…. ummmm…. hmmmmm…. interesting questions there. Aren’t some of those things reusable? But the one you’re looking at clearly isn’t. hmmmmmmm…. I’ll get back to ya if I’m hit with an opinion.

I thought of putting one of those on my bedroom wall and haven’t for similar reasons. I’ve wondered how hard they are to take off or if you paint over them too. Wish you were here to help me with my painting project today!

Can I give a plug for my cousin’s wife Aly?? She has an etsy shop where you can see some of the shelves she makes, but I was sure she did the vinyl thing too so I checked out her FB page, and sure enough, she does! I don’t know if hers are temporary, but I see on there that she said the prices are $15 and up (depending on the size) so even if it’s permanent, that’d be a lot easier to swallow painting over it at some point if it’s a fraction of the price you’re seeing elsewhere.
Here’s her etsy shop – http://www.etsy.com/shop/simplysignsok
And her FB page – https://www.facebook.com/pages/Simply-Signs/158637887508378?sk=wall
And now I gotta scoot – I’m gonna be late to work ’cause I was researching this!
Have a great day!

Have you checked out pinterest? I’m pretty sure I’ve seen tutorials on how to do it yourself. If you figure it out let us know -I’d love to do the same!

$150 seems really steep to me. Can’t you find them for much cheaper. Maybe ask Linda Miller she put a bunch up at believer’s fellowship. I have on my wall and I really like it. I decided to put it on after I painted my livingroom. I figured I won’t be painting for a while so I might as well enjoy it! I love it!
